YES IT HAPPENED

Lucky.

No longer a dirty Red but a Utd man. Isn't football a funny one? Over the years of his Liverpool days nobody could predict in a million years he'd be a Man Utd player. How things turn around.

Was shocked to hear another 44 cases confirmed of Swine Flu in our city yesterday. What? I thought the flu had died down? Fingers crossed.

Sauna time.

RIP MJ...

Where were you when you heard about his death?
How did you react?

He will always be the King of Pop ... no matter what anyone thinks of him. I can't say I was his biggest fan but ... this is bigger than Bruce Lee dying surely. Or George Best for that matter.

On a brighter note, the weather's been better here. Just having a cup of tea in the sunshine outside. How English of me.

  • Traces of cocaine found in Red Bull Cola
  • Six German states pull product off shelves
  • Levels do not pose serious health risk

RED Bull Cola may be banned in Germany after traces of cocaine were found in samples of the drink.

Six German states have ordered retailers to stop selling the beverage and more are expected to follow this week.

Samples of the popular drink examined by the German food authorities were found to contain 0.4 micrograms of cocaine per litre. They were said the have been caused by the method of processing a cocoa leaf.

'The institute examined Red Bull Cola in an elaborate chemical process and found traces of cocaine,' Bernhard Kuehnle, head of the food safety department at the German federal ministry for consumer protection said.

Germany's Federal Institute for Risk Assessment said the cocaine level was too low to pose a health risk. It planned to produce a more detailed report tomorrow.

A spokesperson for Red Bull Australia said: "Germany authorities have raised concerns regarding Red Bull Cola due to the use of a decocainised coca leaf extract in the product. We are in contact with the authorities to clarify the issue.

"Decocainised Coca leaf extracts are used as flavouring in foodstuffs around the world and are considered as safe (eg FDA Gras Status, Council of Europe). Red Bull Cola and other foodstuff containing such extracts may therefore be sold legally.

"Recent product analysis has confirmed that the leaf extract use in Red Bull Simply Cola is safe."

New Zealand woman fighting Red Bull addiction

Meanwhile in New Zealand, a 23-year-old mother who lost 45kg in eight months by drinking nothing but Red Bull says she has ongoing health problems because of the diet.

Brooke Robertson shrank from 105kg to 60kg drinking nothing but 10 to 14 cans a day.

"I just started drinking it. I wasn't sleeping, I wasn't eating - I was exhausted,'' she told the Herald on Sunday.

"I just continued to drink it because it's an appetite suppressant and I noticed I was losing weight so stuck with it.''

Following a minor heart attack, Ms Robertson was admitted to hospital where she was weaned off Red Bull.

"I managed to wean myself off it by being in hospital for that long but I had severe withdrawals - sweating, nausea, shaking. It was an addiction. The doctors stated that.''

She said she has a heart murmur, gets severe pain and cramping in her stomach and bowel, and suffers anxiety attacks.

A Red Bull spokesman said there was “scientific evidence that caffeine is not addictive”.

Red Bull is available in 148 countries. It is banned in Norway, Denmark and Uruguay and now Germany because of health fears.

EMINEM - RELAPSE

I've listened to the album a couple times now via torrent download and gotta say it's by far the best Em album - still crossing lines that needn't be crossed though ... why the beef?? Nick Cannon doesn't stand a chance I suppose.

Regardless 50 is still the king of modern day rap. Kanye and 'Weezy', your auto tune sucks. The novelty has definitely worn thin now ... honestly speaking who really likes auto tune? It's not even IN tune???? Am i right?

INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS

Brad Pitt is a Basterd

During World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "the Basterds" are chosen to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris that is targeted by soldiers.

Inglourious Basterds is both written and directed by the infamous Quentin Tarantino, of everything fromReservoir Dogs to Pulp Fiction to Kill Bill to Death Proof previously. The Weinstein Company and Universal have partnered to bring us Tarantino's WWII masterpiece in all of its brilliant glory. Inglourious Basterds will officially hit theaters worldwide on August 21st later this year after its world premiere at Cannes.

THE WISDOM EXTRACTION

Well that was mad. After being assured that pain was kept to a minimum and that I wouldn't feel a thing ... what a fucking lie!
A direct quote from Sebastian Page last night on Blackberry Messenger - "They use a hammer. Get their leg up on the chair for good leverage. Then bang bang .... YANK!!!"
That's probably a more accurate description compared to what the dentist tells you.

I had the weirdest feeling injections first. My lower lip quivered for a second, only to find the numbing effect taking place. Now we had 10 minutes to kill while the proper numbing reached full effect. I was told to sign a contract (which i dutifully obliged) and was told what to expect. 5 minutes later .....

A clamp the size of a fucking arm hovered over my half-open eyes, and clamped my sodding tooth on the bottom. Now normally, wisdom teeth are extracted fairly easily without much pain (like my top one). But this was impacted or something, mine meaning it grew sideways and was lying flat.
"We'll cut open the gums, remove some bone, proceed inside, drill the tooth into three sections, and then we're done", said the dentist.
"Jolly good", said I.

And on we went.

The drilling was that of a construction site. Constantly paving into my calcium. I could barely feel what was going on what with my numbing and all. Now we get to the third part, the root of the molar, and CLAMP. I open my eyes. The tube on my left sucks in what looks like gallons of blood. I shut them again. It clouded everything. YANK. Ouch, that didn't work. One more time. YANK. Nope, not this time, we slipped. Let's go again. YANK, YANK, YANK and PA PA - POP. SHIT!!!! And out it came. I have never breathed a bigger sigh of relief. Life resumes.

What the hell are the point of wisdom teeth? Luckily for some of you, you may never need to take them out. But some of you will. I hope this piece has been informative, and has helped soothed your thoughts for the time being.

Oh and did I tell you it's impossible to eat?
