Here's a film we shot exactly 2 weeks ago... currently loving my job as the sound man. Well done to all the crew, heard the screening went soundly, too bad i wasn't there!

The idea of the film was to learn the 180 degree rule and not breaking it ... the whole concept is there if you want to check it out.

THE PASSION OF THE BUSH: REDUX

Okay, just a word of warning here. The following video was made by a group of friends with a consensual agreement for it to be done. The passion of the bush was a tradition we used to pull on people at Island School. Obviously this was a good 5 years ago .. and stuff like this is never done anymore .. but for the Island School people this is for you!

In a statement on the band's official Web site, Noel Gallagher wrote: "It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight.

Noel Gallagher has sensationally quit Oasis after a dramatic pre-concert fight with his bandmate brother Liam.

The Wonderwall rockers had a massive bust-up backstage at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris on Friday just minutes before they were due to perform.

It's claimed singer Liam smashed one of Noel's guitars, sending his brother into a fury. After a confrontation, a raging Noel stormed out and announced he has quit the band.

Noel says he is both sad and relieved to be walking away from Oasis after 18 years.

In a statement on the band's official Web site, he wrote: "It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight.

"People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.

"Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan."

Disappointed fans at Rock en Seine were told about the cancellation on giant screens with a message explaining that "an altercation within the band" was to blame.

Singer Amy McDonald also posted an account of the brothers' tussle on her Twitter.com page: "Cancelled again with one minute to stage time!!! Liam smashed Noel's guitar, huuuge fight!"

The split comes just days after Oasis axed a headline slot at the U.K.'s V Festival on Sunday, blaming Liam's throat infection. The band was nearing the end of its current world tour, which has been riddled with reports of battles between the brothers.

Naturally, I am ridiculously upset. What the hell they could've been fighting about would never be worth losing Oasis for. If this is it then i'm happy for it to end this way. They could never top Definitely Maybe, and perhaps it's better to go out with a bang then mope around like the Rolling Stones.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTAGE

Wow it's been a while .. ok where do I start.

I've just moved into a beautiful new house in KL, which means months and months of gear in storage finally unpacked. Found a ridiculous amount of things I'd forgotten about - anyone still keep their Pokemon stash? Who wants a bunch of cards? Do I keep them in case they become collectors item? Maybe I'll give them to charity. Or maybe i'll just burn all that worthless shit.

I found some amazing footage from high school. From the guys I grew up with, we all remember "The Passion of the Bush" right? I've decided to do a part 2 REDUX - with better editing. Whether Sunil is gonna flip the switch on me is another matter. The video is done, but with respect Sunil will be the first to see it, and whether he'll say yes to the upload depends on him. More to come later .......

February 2006 - I capture the day Oasis were in town ... our travels leading to the big gig ... caught some hilarious footage that the IS gang will love to see. I will start editing asap. The footage also contains Mike Gunter's quote of, "... they make thick socks for a reason"
For those of you who don't know Mike, he's a character and a half, and you'll never meet anybody quite like him. "For a reason" is a phrase he uses for everything. From why places are called their names, to why people swear. Everything is "for a reason" - and it's said through a strong American, oops, Canadian accent.

United have just beaten Wigan 5-0 - what crisis?

I took this picture below because I thought it summed up the attitudes here.
Clearly the kids don't give a fuck.

YES IT HAPPENED

Lucky.

No longer a dirty Red but a Utd man. Isn't football a funny one? Over the years of his Liverpool days nobody could predict in a million years he'd be a Man Utd player. How things turn around.

Was shocked to hear another 44 cases confirmed of Swine Flu in our city yesterday. What? I thought the flu had died down? Fingers crossed.

Sauna time.

RIP MJ...

Where were you when you heard about his death?
How did you react?

He will always be the King of Pop ... no matter what anyone thinks of him. I can't say I was his biggest fan but ... this is bigger than Bruce Lee dying surely. Or George Best for that matter.

On a brighter note, the weather's been better here. Just having a cup of tea in the sunshine outside. How English of me.

  • Traces of cocaine found in Red Bull Cola
  • Six German states pull product off shelves
  • Levels do not pose serious health risk

RED Bull Cola may be banned in Germany after traces of cocaine were found in samples of the drink.

Six German states have ordered retailers to stop selling the beverage and more are expected to follow this week.

Samples of the popular drink examined by the German food authorities were found to contain 0.4 micrograms of cocaine per litre. They were said the have been caused by the method of processing a cocoa leaf.

'The institute examined Red Bull Cola in an elaborate chemical process and found traces of cocaine,' Bernhard Kuehnle, head of the food safety department at the German federal ministry for consumer protection said.

Germany's Federal Institute for Risk Assessment said the cocaine level was too low to pose a health risk. It planned to produce a more detailed report tomorrow.

A spokesperson for Red Bull Australia said: "Germany authorities have raised concerns regarding Red Bull Cola due to the use of a decocainised coca leaf extract in the product. We are in contact with the authorities to clarify the issue.

"Decocainised Coca leaf extracts are used as flavouring in foodstuffs around the world and are considered as safe (eg FDA Gras Status, Council of Europe). Red Bull Cola and other foodstuff containing such extracts may therefore be sold legally.

"Recent product analysis has confirmed that the leaf extract use in Red Bull Simply Cola is safe."

New Zealand woman fighting Red Bull addiction

Meanwhile in New Zealand, a 23-year-old mother who lost 45kg in eight months by drinking nothing but Red Bull says she has ongoing health problems because of the diet.

Brooke Robertson shrank from 105kg to 60kg drinking nothing but 10 to 14 cans a day.

"I just started drinking it. I wasn't sleeping, I wasn't eating - I was exhausted,'' she told the Herald on Sunday.

"I just continued to drink it because it's an appetite suppressant and I noticed I was losing weight so stuck with it.''

Following a minor heart attack, Ms Robertson was admitted to hospital where she was weaned off Red Bull.

"I managed to wean myself off it by being in hospital for that long but I had severe withdrawals - sweating, nausea, shaking. It was an addiction. The doctors stated that.''

She said she has a heart murmur, gets severe pain and cramping in her stomach and bowel, and suffers anxiety attacks.

A Red Bull spokesman said there was “scientific evidence that caffeine is not addictive”.

Red Bull is available in 148 countries. It is banned in Norway, Denmark and Uruguay and now Germany because of health fears.
